Digital Desk, Bahraich. Four suspected drug peddlers have been arrested from Rupaidiha near Indo-Nepal border in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh with drugs worth over Rs 2 crore.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Prashant Verma said that a joint patrolling team of local police and Sashastra Seema Bal arrested four suspected smugglers with 435 grams of smack.
When the arrested accused were searched near Rupaidiha Railway Station, banned drugs were found in their possession. Police said that the value of the seized drug in the international market has been estimated at around Rs 2.17 crore.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ashok Kumar said that the four have been identified as Taj Babu alias Sameer, Bablu alias Mohammad Amin, Sanjay Kewat and Dinesh. The police have registered a case against the quartet under sections of the NDPS Act.
