Digital Desk, Uttara Kannada (Karnataka). A court in Karnataka has sentenced a Pakistani woman and her Indian husband to jail for visa violations. The Karwar District Sessions Court has sentenced Naseera Parveen to six months imprisonment, while her husband Mohd Ilyas will be jailed for one month.

Both have also been asked to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 each. Justice DS Vijayakumar passed the order on Thursday. A case was registered against Ilyas on June 17, 2014 for taking Naseera to New Delhi for extension of her visa without informing the jurisdictional Bhatkal Police Station and the FRO of Karwar.

A case of violation of visa norms has been registered at Bhatkal City police station. The police had filed a charge sheet against the couple in this regard.
