Digital Desk, New Delhi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at over 50 locations across the country, including the locations of Naresh Sethi, an aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, in the gangster syndicate case.
According to the information, the NIA teams reached Sethi’s house in Jhajjar, Haryana at around 4 am on Tuesday.
A source said, “The local police, led by a DSP-level officer, helped us during the raids. We checked the bank details and got information about Sethi’s illegal assets. Apart from this, we also inquired about this from his family.
Sethi is involved in murder, extortion and many other heinous crimes. He is currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. He was one of the special companions of Lawrence Bishnoi. “We have decided to break the growing connections between gangsters, terrorists and drug dealers,” he said.
The case pertains to the involvement of criminal gangs in various types of criminal activities including murders, in order to create panic among the people in order to extort money for running and promoting their criminal syndicate and activities. These gangs were also raising funds for carrying out such criminal activities through smuggling of drugs and weapons.
Initially, on August 8, the Special Cell of Delhi Police registered a case against eight accused and some others. Later the investigation was handed over to NIA.
The NIA has said that gangs based in India and abroad had conspired to commit terrorist acts in Delhi and other parts of the country. Further investigation is on in the matter.
