Digital Desk, Meerut. Six people went missing after a boat carrying around 17 people capsized at Meerut’s Bhimkund Ganga Ghat on Tuesday.

Eleven people have been rescued, while rescue operations are on to trace the missing, including two government teachers. Due to the breakdown of the bridge built on the Ganges canal, people cross the river by boat.

Six motorcycles were also on board the overturned boat and six to seven teachers were among the 17 people. Police and administrative officials reached the spot as soon as the information about the accident was received. According to district officials, PAC motorboat has been called to search for people.
