Digital Desk, Ayodhya. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust has asked top sculptors of the country to send their models for the idol of Ramlala (Lord Rama as child) for the under-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya. The trust will select any one model for the Ram temple.

According to the members of the trust, eminent sculptors Sudarshan Sahu and Vasudev Kamath of Odisha, K.V. Maniya of Karnataka and Shastrajya Deulkar of Pune will send models of the nine to 12 inch statue.

Trust general secretary Champat Rai said, stones from Maharashtra, Odisha and Karnataka have been selected to prepare the idol of Ramlala. The Trust will approve the stones after finalizing the model. He said that the height of the statue would be around 8.5 feet to nine feet so that the rays of the sun could fall.

The trust has roped in the country’s top institutions with expertise in architecture and building design to design the Ram temple sanctum in such a way that the sun shines on Ramlala’s forehead at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on every Ram Navami when the Lord is born.

A team of experts from CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee, Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune and renowned temple architects has been constituted for the purpose.
