Digital Desk, Bhopal. There is a possibility of rain in many areas of North India with severe cold and cold wave. While giving information, the Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Western Himalayas like Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada between January 7 and 9. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu – Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, Sikkim for the next 2-3 days. There is also a possibility of dense fog in North Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam.
During the next 24 to 48 hours, cold wave conditions are very likely to increase over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh along with parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Delhi NCR recorded a minimum temperature of 2 degree Celsius and a maximum temperature of 17 degree Celsius today amid icy winds blowing from the mountains. IMD has issued a yellow alert regarding the cold wave.
The icy winds from the north have engulfed Madhya Pradesh. Due to increasing cold and dense fog, the condition in many areas is getting worse. Dense fog has covered the northern part of Madhya Pradesh in Morena, Gwalior, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna Bhind. In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the minimum temperature has reached around 7 degrees, whereas due to the increasing cold, the district administration has declared holidays for schools. The Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain like this for the next 1 week.
